Three things I hate shopping for in order:
1. Bathing suits
2. Pants
3. Bras
Nothing like a good kick to the self-esteem.
Yesterday was the best day!Today I had the honor to watch my friend Megan get married. I’ve seen her grow so much in the 4 years I’ve known her, and watching her walk down the aisle today was nothing less of amazing. Her and her sister Erin are the big sisters I never had. Unfortunately, I had to leave the reception really early on a fault of my own, but I was so glad I got to witness the ceremony, and to see her and Joey get married. <3 I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for those two.
I love you, Ali!
Do you even know who I am?
I am a felon. I am a registered narcotics offender. I am a recovering addict. I am a college drop-out. Good, so now that you know the things I’m judged for daily… why don’t you do me, and everyone like me, a favor… look past it and find out what else I am. I am a sister, a daughter, and a grandchild. I am a cousin, a niece, a relative. I am a friend, and in some cases a best friend. I am a wife, a partner, a lobster. I am three years sober. I am well educated even without a college degree. I received the Dean’s list in college the semester before dropping out. I am honest. I am hard-working. I give my very all when it comes to my work. I had everything once, lost it, and earned it all back. I am grateful. I do not cheat. I do not steal. I do not lie. I am a great listener. I love music. I love art. I love reading. I love my family. I love my friends. I am content with myself. I am proud of what I have overcome. I am constantly judged, but I know that those judging do not know the person past the conviction. I am afraid to tell people of my past struggles because I know that unless they too have a personal experience with it they most likely will not understand. I believe every person has the possibility to change their ways and right their wrongs. I believe one day I will be given a fair chance. I believe if you met me you would like me and never suspect my criminal history. I believe everyone deserves a second chance. I believe in God. I believe that with the right support system from friends & family I can accomplish anything. I believe.
